What is Tree Planting? ​

Every year millions of tree seedlings are planted across Canada. As shown in the image above, the Plantor finds a suitable place to plant a seedling, then uses a spade to open holes for the seedling to be inserted, then the Plantor closes the hole and the cycle repeats thousands of times each day.

The "centage" for each tree planted usually ranges from 15 to 18 cents in British Columbia. Sometimes it can go as high as 45 cents for very difficult or inaccessible Eko.

What does a Plantor's typical day look like?
  • Wake

  • Load gear into vehicles

  • Drive to Eko

  • Plant for 8.5 hours

    • Take trees out of boxes or trays, then load the trees into bags
    • Put on the bags and walk into your Eko
    • Plant all the trees in your bag
  • Drive home

  • Eat

  • Sleep
